Prefold Diapers with Diaper Covers

Prefold diaper covers are an economical choice.  Secure diaper on baby and top with a diaper cover.  Or easier, just fold diaper into cover and velcro or snap cover around baby.  

How many of what do you need?.

Daily	Every Other Day	Every 3rd Day
12 infant prefold diapers	24  infant prefold diapers	36  infant prefold diapers
(many people choose half of their infant prefolds to be standard prefolds and the other half to be premium prefolds)
3-4 newborn diaper covers	6-8 newborn diaper covers	10 newborn diaper covers
3-4 small diaper covers	6-8 small diaper covers	10 small diaper covers
12 cloth wipes	24 cloth wipes	36 cloth wipes

1 small or medium wet bags for the diaper bag

1 large wet bags ( if you are planning  to travel out of town or for daycare* use choose 2 large wet bags)

1-2 diaper pail liners

stay dry liners for naps and overnight

2-4 suitable night time diapers, choose a diaper with stay dry inner layer like most pocket or an AIO diapers.

optional 2-4 pairs of pins or 2-4 Snappi fasteners or a combination.

diaper sprayer (you won't use this right away for diapers but it would be really nice to have)

 

How many sizes should I register for?

Consider registering up to size medium.  Some babies are just so slender they will never use the larger sizes.   Listed below are additional items to register for that you may need later with baby.

18-30 baby prefolds

4-6 medium diaper covers

2-3 night diapers (choose something more absorbent than a cotton prefold and preferably stay-dry on the inside)

flushable diaper liners

2 toddler Snappi fasteners

diaper sprayer (you won't use this right away for diapers but it would be really nice to have)
