TWIST FOLD

This cloth diaper fold, like its name implies, includes twisting the diaper. Lay baby on the back portion of the diaper; twist the prefold diaper between baby's legs; bring diaper up, and cover.

The Twist Fold adds absorbency to the center of the diaper.  It also shortens the diaper a little bit which may help the prefold to fit baby better.  This fold is primarily used with Standard Prefolds vs. Premium Prefolds.  Premium Prefolds tend to be too bulky once twisted.  If you feel that the prefold is still too long for your baby after twisting you can always fold down either the back of the diaper before step one or fold down the front of the diaper before securing the prefold and covering.

This fold will do a fairly-good job at containing breastfed baby poo and is most often used for girl babies who pee towards the center of the diaper where the twist fold lands.

Start with baby, prefold and cover.

Lay prefold over cover just below the back edge of cover.  Lay baby on back portion of the prefold with the back waist of the cover lining up with baby's waist.
Take the front left and right corner to the prefold and turn them vertical. Cross the prefold causing the diaper to twist between the baby's legs.
Complete the twist. Bring the the diaper up between baby's legs and cover baby.
Secure the prefold using a Snappi if desired. Bring up front of cover over the prefold.
Secure hook and loop closures of the cover. Viola! The Twist!
